New Year, New Snow!

Well, having been house sitting has really put a damper on updating this blog... Sorry about that! I've finally got a bit of time back in Dundas, with my computer, photos, and photo editor handy, so I thought it was about time I updated.

Snowboarding season is finally, properly, here, and I couldn't be happier! I finally found myself my one piece (after a search like that fabled needle in a haystack), and it is warm, cozy, comfortable, waterproof... all of the above! Friday night Mike and I were riding in -15C weather, and I was toasty warm in my suit with only long underwear underneath. I'm also teaching a coworker how to ride, and she had an awesome time last week when I took her. Lucky for her, I have a full second set up of both outerwear and snowboarding gear, so she only had to pay for her lift pass. I had a great time too, which is good! Here are some snowboarding photos from Blue Mountain, that we've ammassed over the past few weeks. And by some I mean a lot...

Blue 'Mountain' in all its glory...

It's long, just not very tall!

We went on a little hike to see what the new area was going to look like

Pretty snow

Tree runs in the powder are our favourites

Trees... Nothing like the glades in BC though

This is probably the most snow Ontario has seen in a while!

There are a couple evergreens around...

Dark and stormy

Just liked this one

There was a decent snowstorm the week before Christmas, and so Mike and I and Lauren and her Mike all went to the little hill in the Dundas Conservation Area to sled/snowboard. Lots of snow, lots of fluffy powdery snow, and we were all very very happy. Good thing it was a little hill though, because it was tough walking in all that snow!

Such a big hill...

Finally, it snowed for New Years! What an awesome way to start the new year, at least as far as I'm concerned!!!! Some pictures from the parents' place during that snowstorm.

Not working too well in the snow!
