Well now that I'm finally feeling better, I can start getting things accomplished again! Last week went as planned, up until Thursday. Thursday I was on babysitting duty, spent the day with Mike's nephew. I was only supposed to be there until about noon, but things didn't go according to plan, and I stayed until 3:30. It was a day of playtime. If it flashed lights and played music, we were all over it! We read stories together and spent some time looking out the window and

watching the world go by. After nap time, we had some lunch, and then played some more. And then looked out the window. And then played some more. It was really cold out, but nice, so it would have been nice to go for a walk. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a stroller anywhere! We made the most of staying in though.

After I was relieved, I ran in to Hamilton to pick up my criminal record check. Of course, it wasn't ready, even though it had been two weeks like they said. After assuring me they would call as soon as it was ready, I called it a day and went home. I phoned Participation Housing, and explained that my crim check wasn't ready yet, and they weren't all that excited. Can't blame them! Mike came home and cooked me supper, then we had a normal evening at home. I wasn't feeling amazing, so I went to bed early. Woke up in the middle of the night to puke. Multiple times. Poor Mike thought he'd poisoned me with supper! But no, it was just the beginnings of a particularly nasty cold (I hope that's all it was!).

Friday and Saturday were complete writeoffs, which I was not too happy about, as it snowed all weekend! Sunday, when I was finally starting to feel like I could get off the couch for a bit, it started RAINING. There went my beautiful snow. There went my hopes of snowboarding down the little hill around the corner. There went my desire to get off the couch.

Monday I risked a bit of a walk downtown, just to get out and about and get some fresh air into me. It felt nice, but completely tired me out. Tuesday Mike had the morning off work, so we went shopping. Bought all sorts of Christmas

gifts and supplies. We got a cheap fake tree from WalMart (I have such a love-hate relationship with that place... I hate it, but I'm too poor to afford anything else...), and Tuesday afternoon I watched cheesy movies and folded paper cranes to decorate our tree with. I also made potato soup to make myself feel better. Our team then lost at trivia. Wednesday I picked up my criminal record check, which was finally ready, then took it over to PH along with all my other paperwork. Wednesday night Mike and I trimmed the tree and took photos for our cheesy Christmas card. His team also lost at hockey. Thursday I took Mike out for lunch, and we did yet more Christmas shopping. He had his first chiropractor appointment after work, and found out that yes, his back is kind of screwed up. Surprise, surprise. The good news is, they can fix it no problem, and it's not as bad as it could be. I also went to the gym for the first time in a week, and felt great for doing so. I did take it pretty easy though, didn't want to tire myself out.

At hockey on Wednesday, I spent the whole time talking with Abby about Occupational Therapy. She recently finished her masters in that at McMaster University, and seems to be enjoying it. She thinks I'd be perfect for it, based on everything she's heard me say about my jobs. Apparently OT is the next level above simple caregiving, more along the lines of problem solving and real therapy. The more she talked about it, the more excited I got. It sounds perfect. I've ordered transcripts from York, they should be here soon. I'd like to apply to McMaster for OT, and Western for Speech Language Pathology. I really want to go to McMaster, because it's so close. It's a great school too, so that doesn't hurt! Western is pretty far away, but SLP is something I'd like to do as well. I'm going to be researching McMaster over the next few days, see what I can find out.

Health wise, I'm slowly getting better. My energy levels are back up, and I'm only congested at night. I've got a bit of a cough, but that always seems to be the final phase of sickness for me. I was scared I was going to get Noah sick, but he seems to be fine. He had a bit of a cold last week, and apparently has a bit of an ear infection now, but it doesn't sound like he's got what I had. Whew!
That's about it for me right now. The pictures are from my drive into Cambridge to visit Mike. The snow on the fields looks really neat these days.
